Planning a Custom Livery near Miami, FL?

The Cherdak project began with a dark blue Dodge Charger Pursuit carrying an earlier hood design. We rebuilt its exterior around a black-and-white “YouTube Patrol” livery, using the Charger’s roof light bar, push bar, black wheels, and police-style body as part of the design.

Once the wrap was complete, orange, yellow, blue, red, green, and purple color was applied by hand for the filmed part of the project. That temporary layer was later washed away, returning the Charger to its clean black-and-white finish.

What the Livery Needed to Communicate

The main idea had to be clear before someone stopped to examine the smaller details. The roof light bar and push bar already gave the Charger a police-inspired appearance, so the livery built on that look with bold black-and-white panels, badge graphics, unit numbers, and large lettering.

“YouTube Patrol” became the central identity. The red play button made that connection immediate, while the Cherdak name and @DI_CHE handle tied the vehicle back to the filmed project.

The design did not need long wording or several competing messages. A viewer could see the badge, recognize the YouTube reference, and understand the police-car theme within a few seconds.

What Car Received the Livery?

The vehicle is a Dodge Charger Pursuit, identified by the large “Charger Pursuit” lettering across the rear doors and quarter panels.

Its existing equipment strongly influenced the direction of the project. The roof light bar, front push bar, black wheels, dark trim, and long sedan body already supported the patrol-car appearance. The new livery connected those elements instead of trying to make the Charger look like a different type of vehicle.

Build Details That Shaped the Wrap

Before the new graphics were installed, the Charger had a dark blue finish with red, white, and black artwork across the hood. Project footage follows the car through preparation around the fenders, wheel openings, exterior panels, and front equipment.

The Charger’s raised hood, recessed door areas, handles, fuel door, wheel arches, and panel gaps all affected where graphics could cross the body. The light bar and push bar also changed how the design would be seen from the front and above.

How Were the Cherdak and YouTube Patrol Graphics Arranged?

The hood carries the largest version of the YouTube Patrol identity. Bold lettering sits above a badge-style graphic built around the red YouTube play button.

Matching badges appear on the front doors. The number 001 and an American flag sit above both front wheels, giving the car the familiar structure of a numbered patrol vehicle.

Large “Charger Pursuit” lettering stretches across the rear doors and quarter panels. Cherdak graphics, the @DI_CHE handle, Clinched branding, and the CWD build mark appear in smaller areas around the windows and lower body.

The arrangement gives each section of the car a clear purpose. The hood introduces the theme, the doors carry the main badge, and the rear half identifies the Charger Pursuit.

How the Design Reads From Different Angles

01 · FRONT

From the front, the hood graphic, light bar, and push bar create the strongest impression.

02 · SIDE

The side view carries the most information. You can see the badge, 001 number, flag, Charger Pursuit lettering, social handle, and supporting graphics together.

03 · REAR

The rear is simpler. Cherdak branding remains visible without repeating every graphic used along the sides. This keeps the design recognizable without covering every available surface with text.

From Flat Artwork to the Charger’s Body

The artwork had to move across several separate panels while still reading as one design. Door seams divide the badge and Charger Pursuit graphics, while wheel arches, handles, windows, and body lines interrupt the available space.

Planning the custom livery design around the actual Charger allowed the lettering and badges to follow those breaks without becoming difficult to read.

The white areas create room for the darker lettering, while black and charcoal sections connect the hood, front fenders, upper doors, and lower body. Instead of placing one large image across the whole side, the design uses each panel for a specific part of the identity.

Color, Contrast, and Number Legibility

The clean livery relies mainly on black, white, charcoal, and red. White graphics stand out against the darker hood and front panels, while black lettering remains clear across the white doors and rear quarters.

Red is used more selectively. The YouTube play button becomes the main color accent without competing with the rest of the layout.

The 001 numbers use a white outline that keeps them visible against the dark front fenders. The American flags underneath add another recognizable detail without taking attention away from the larger door badges.

Printing, Paneling, and the Main Graphic Areas

The printed vehicle graphics cover the main visual areas of the Charger, including the hood, fenders, doors, quarter panels, roof, and rear.

Individual sections had to meet cleanly across the door gaps and body lines. The Charger Pursuit lettering is especially dependent on alignment because it stretches across more than one panel.

Smaller graphics were placed where they could remain intact and readable. The @DI_CHE handle sits on the rear side glass, while the build and collaborator marks follow the lower body rather than interrupting the main door graphics.

How Was the Cherdak Charger Livery Installed?

The installation transformed the dark blue Charger into a black-and-white patrol-style vehicle. The major panels established the overall color layout, followed by the badges, lettering, numbers, flags, social handle, and smaller supporting graphics.

Panel Order and Alignment

The hood and large side sections set the main visual lines. Door graphics had to align across panel gaps, while the lettering around the rear wheel arches needed to remain readable as the surface changed shape.

The roof, mirrors, bumpers, and areas surrounding the existing police-style equipment required separate treatment. Once the wrap was complete, the car was taken outside so the full design could be seen from the front, sides, and rear before the project moved into its painted stage.

Adding the Hand-Painted Layer

The completed wrap became the base for a second part of the project. Bottles of bright color were poured, drawn, and splattered across the Charger by hand.

The hood received the heaviest concentration. Orange, yellow, blue, and red crossed the YouTube Patrol badge and continued onto the windshield and front fenders. Additional marks reached the doors, roof, mirrors, light bar, push bar, side glass, and rear panels.

Some lines were drawn directly onto the surface, while others were allowed to drip and splash. This created a much looser appearance than the carefully arranged livery underneath.

The painted layer was later covered in foam and washed away. It was part of the filmed experience rather than a replacement for the finished wrap.

The Finished Car in Clean and Painted Views

The gallery documents both versions of the Cherdak Charger.

The clean version shows the full black-and-white livery in daylight, including the YouTube Patrol badges, Charger Pursuit lettering, 001 markings, American flags, and Cherdak details.

The close-up project photos focus on the temporary painted version. They show color running across the hood, windshield, doors, light bar, mirrors, push bar, and smaller graphics.

Together, the photos and video show more than a standard before-and-after transformation. They capture the original dark blue car, the completed YouTube Patrol livery, the hand-painted stage, and the return to the clean wrap.

What Made This Cherdak Project Different

The project was built around two contrasting versions of the same Charger. The first was controlled and graphic, with a clear black-and-white layout. The second was created freely by pouring and splattering color over that finished design.

The underlying livery held the project together. Even beneath the painted lines, the main badge, unit number, and Charger Pursuit lettering remained recognizable.
